On Good Friday, we will consider the life of Jesus and who he claimed to be. Was Jesus really the “King of the Jews”, or was he a fraudulent liar? This one-hour special service will include worship, scripture, and communion.Easter Weekend ↓
The story doesn’t end on Good Friday. As we gather together for Easter services, we will see Jesus’ ultimate victory over death and the true nature of his authority. Come ready to celebrate and rejoice!Additional information↓
Our service begins with worship, led by a band. Most people stand during this time, however, there is complete freedom to be seated if you prefer. The words of all of the songs are projected onto a screen, our hope is that you’ll hear songs you know or can relate to, even if you haven’t been to church before.
You won’t be asked to stand or raise your hand (or anything else embarrassing) just because you’re new. Nor will you have to recite anything or kneel at certain times during the service.
Harvest provides practical bible messages that help you deal with real life issues. Pastor Jason preaches from the English Standard Version, but please feel free to bring whatever version of the bible you use. We’ll even give you a handy outline with the main points and bible verses in the bulletin. What you learn on the weekend, you’ll be able to use during the week.
At Harvest Bible Chapel, we focus on the heart more than the outward appearance. When you come to one of our weekend services, you will find people dressed in a wide variety of styles from as casual as jeans or shorts, to as formal as suits and dresses. However, most people find themselves somewhere in the middle–most often wearing business casual. We do ask that people wear clothing that does not draw attention to themselves. We think that what you wear to church should not detract from the worship experience of others around you. We want all of the attention to go to Jesus Christ.
On Good Friday, there will be Harvest Kids ministry available during all three services for children from birth to Grade 4. Kids from Grade 5 and up will be welcome to join the adult services.
On Easter Saturday and Sunday, Harvest Kids will be available for children from birth to Grade 5 during all three services. Kids from Grade 6 and up will be invited to join the adult services.
On Tuesday, April 16th, Wednesday, April 17th, and Thursday, April 18th, we will be meeting together to pray from 7:00-8:00 pm. Each evening will involve a message on the life of Jesus and a time of guided prayer. This year the theme of our prayer time together will be “praying with desperate faith”. We will be praying specifically for the salvation of friends and family. Each evening will look different, so we encourage you to join us for as many nights as you are able!
If you've been thinking about inviting a friend or family member to church, Easter is a great time to take action as we consider questions of who Jesus is and how we should respond. Be fervent in prayer and pick up one of our invite cards while you're at church this weekend.
Each year we collect a special spring offering to further ministries here at home and around the world. This year's offering is designated towards support for Hope Church Toronto North, the Markham-Stouffville Crisis Pregnancy Centre, the orphanages in Haiti run by Freedom Global Outreach, and capital improvements/additions for our church building here at Harvest Bible Chapel.
